Join Dr. Harold Rosenbaum, retired Juilliard professor and celebrated conductor, as he teaches the history of Classical Music from ancient times to the present. Musical demonstrations at the piano will punctuate the discussion and will demonstrate the evolving styles through history.

A transformative mindfulness workshop designed to help you Be Human, Be Happy, and Be You! Led by Raditia, a mindfulness teacher and award-winning author, this session offers a safe and nurturing space to reconnect with yourself and others while exploring mindfulness as a way of being. Through meaningful reflections and open sharing, you’ll discover how mindfulness can help you embrace curiosity, gratitude, and letting go—fostering joy, balance, and authenticity in your daily life.

Come celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th birthday year with an evening of lively discussion about all things Austen! Professor John Bugg of Fordham University will lead a discussion of Austen’s final book, Persuasion, published in 1811. He’ll also share a letter Austen wrote after attending a party in London that will help us explore her priorities and craft as a writer. A must-attend event for Austen fans! Refreshments will be served. We recommend you read or re-read Persuasion!

This virtual program is for families of freshmen through juniors, to help understand the college admissions process. We will discuss current college admissions trends, admissions strategies, the changing test-optional environment, the importance of researching and visiting colleges, a timeline and other action steps that can be taken to make the remainder of the school year productive and less stressful. We will also discuss the importance of community service, how it can provide an opportunity for meaningful experiences, personal growth and a way to showcase a student’s character.

Please join the Village Bookstore and the Mount Pleasant Library as they join forces for an in-person Local Author Book Club! Participants will discuss the book and will later be joined by the author to continue the discussion. This month's selection is The World After Alice by Lauren Aliza Green.

Join Tanisha Mitchell, founder and CEO of Operatalks (operatalks.com), for a presentation of La Boheme by Giacomo Puccini. Tanisha will discuss the history of the opera behind the scenes and give an overview of the storyline with video clips, artifacts from the Metropolitan Opera music library, original artwork and costumes from the world premiere, and even her own singing to teach and inspire audiences.

A revealing and humorous double portrait of Catherine Murphy and Harry Roseman, well-known artists with works in major museums and private collections from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
"Cathy & Harry" the film documents how their lives revolve in joyous, dizzying intensity around work, food, friends, and each other, letting us get a feel for the day-to-day work of trying to make something of value. As well as important contemporary artists, Cathy and Harry become people – and people you’d probably like to have dinner with. Directed by Daniel Wolff and Marta Renzi.
