Last December the Library Board of Trustees commissioned Plan A, a consulting firm, to conduct a community based planning process to address the issues that the Library faces during the immediate after-school period.

This six-month long process engaged the community in a number of ways, including one-on-one interviews, an online survey, a series of round-table discussions and a steering committee that met regularly to review progress.

The final report of the Preteen Services Steering Committee was presented to the Library's Board of Trustees at its June Meeting.
The Board is enthusiastic about the report and is in the process of reviewing the recommendations and carefully considering the next steps in the process.

Regular updates on this process will be posted on the Library's website and through the Library's eNewsletter service.
