Library Elf is a web-based and email tool for library users to keep track of their library borrowings and holds. It makes it easier to keep track of what's due, overdue or ready for pickup from one or more library accounts. This account is checked every day and email notices are sent when items are coming due, overdue or when holds are ready for pickup. As well, users can get up-to-date real-time information through the Library Elf web-site.

Who uses Elf?
  • Anyone who wants to reduce overdues
  • Families with children and lots of books
  • Individuals with several library cards
  • Anyone who requests a lot of holds

What's delivered by the service?
  • Email and/or RSS alerts before items are due
  • Email and/or RSS alerts on overdues and holds
  • Consolidated list of yours or your family's library loans and holds
  • An easy-to-use calendar view of when your material is due
  • Cellphone text message alerts for holds
  • Real-time checking by browser

How do I sign-up?
Registering with Library ELF is free and easy (before you do, please read our Privacy Notice & Disclaimer). Mount Pleasant Public Library cardholders simply need to go to www.libraryelf.com, click on 'Sign Up', and then just follow the on-screen directions. Be sure that 'NY-Westchester Library System' is selected from the drop-down list of libraries, and have your library card handy (you will need the barcode). If you want to receive notifications for other family members, you'll need their library card barcode numbers, too.
