Bedtime Math
Program runs from June 26 - August 5.
A fun math program that will keep your mind hopping and prevent math skills from getting rusty over the summer. If you're intested in participating, please ask for the materials when you pick up your summer reading program package. For more information, please click here.


Petite Concert for Children
Wednesday, June 28 from 1:30 - 2:15PM at the Main Library
Come listen to short musical selections with violinist Chi-Chi Bestmann and enjoy an instrument discovery session afterwards.

The Wright Stuff
Wednesday, July 5 from 4:00 - 5:00PM at the Main Library
The fun begins when your junior inventors use odd materials to create a flying object and experiment with the Museum's fantastic wind tunnel. This is a playful and inventive way of exploring airflow, drag, symmetry, turbulence, air resistance, and gravity.
For children entering grades 3 through 5

Lego Building Club
Tuesdays, July 11 & 18, from 4:00 - 5:00PM at the Main Library
Children ages 5 through 10 are invited to the Library to build and create anything they choose!

Fiesta Concert

A musical experience that brings together music from all over the world, and combines storytelling and puppetry in one magical experience. Fun for the whole family!


Truss Us, It's Sturdy
Wednesday, July 19 from 4:00 - 5:00PM at the Main Library
A Truss structure is considered the strongest building structure because of the triangular shape it uses. In this hand-on STEM lesson, students will explore why certain shapes are stronger than others and how they distribute load and withstand force differently. Using what they learn, students will build and test the strength of their own truss bridges.

Origami Workshop
Wednesday, July 26 from 4:00 - 5:00PM at the Main Library
Yoshimi Arai will teach this origami workshop where students, through folding simple square papers into 3D objects, will learn magical origami techniques, and also the importance of being patient, accurate and focused.

Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies is a program where early readers (grades K-3) and teen volunteers get together at the Main Library in Pleasantville to read to each other at a time that is convenient for both parents and the teen.

Jewelry Making for a Cause
Tuesday, July 25 at the Main Library
Beading instructor Joan Lloyd makes hundreds of pairs of earrings that she donates to battered women's shelters countrywide. Learn to make earrings and help build a better world.
This program is free and all supplies will be provided. For every pair you make to keep, you must make a second pair to donate.
For young adults in grades 5 and up. A great parent/teen craft!
