A Truss structure is considered the strongest building structure because of the triangular shape it uses. In this hands-on STEM lesson, students will explore why certain shapes are stronger than others and how they distribute load and withstand force differently. Using what they learn, students will build and test the strength of their own truss bridges.

In this creative workshop you'll learn how to build your very own puppet from scratch using simple materials you might find in a craft store or even around the house. You'll then learn to perform with that puppet and even use it to make stories come to life! Better yet, parents and guardians are welcome to join in the building fun, too. Workshop is led by professional NYC puppeteer Nicola McEldowney
