The Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization that exists to raise funds to supplement the services that the Mount Pleasant Public Library offers.

The Friends raise funds through two sources: membership dues and semi-annual book-sales.

Each year the Friends provide funds for the Library's Museum Pass Lending program and also provides grants for specific improvements (most recently, custom shelving for our New Book Collection). Other projects supported include: 

> The creation of a pre-school area in the Janet Cooper Dakin Children's Room

> Shelving for our New Book Collection

> Our Museum Pass Lending Program

> A new book-drop at the Branch Library

> The MPPL App

> The Library's 2012 Strategic Planning Process

> The purchase of a heavy-duty DVD/CD Disk Repair System

> A multi-function photo-copier

> Renovations to staff work-areas

> The purchase of public computers for the Children's Room
